Walkden North By Election
Salford BNP select candidate for Walkden north.
Salford branch of the British National Party returned for the first meeting after the christmas period to the news that a by-election has been called in Walkden following the death of the sitting Labour councillor reports organiser Gary Tumulty.
Members were asked if anyone was prepared to stand for election, and after several hands went up, all the potential candidates were given a few moments to put their case across said Mr Tumulty.
After a vote, It was decided that Keith Fairhurst would stand as councillor candidate in Walkden, after a unaminous decision by the members continued Mr Tumulty.
He will make a fine candidate, and his desire to see a better Salford will drive him on to mount a good campaign.
Candidate Keith Fairhurst added, I am extremely proud to represent the British National Party in the upcoming By-election, and I would like to assure the residents of Walkden north that I will be campaigning on the issues that affect them, and not making false promises like all the other parties do at election time. My campaign will be based on honesty, integrity, and fairness. The residents of Walkden can rely on me to represent their interests, not self interest.

Salford BNP gears up for Walkden north by-election.
British National Party activists from Salford have once again been campaigning and leafletting in the latest in a series of days of action in Walkden. reports organiser Gary Tumulty.
Salford's activists were joined by a team from Bolton the day after boxing day to prepare for a by-election in the area following the death of a Labour councillor, and we have been continuing to canvass and leaflet the area since, regardless of the deep snow last week, and on the whole, the response from the residents has been very positive, with comments such as "About bloody time you lot showed up" being the general consensus. continued Mr Tumulty.
Keith Fairhurst, deputy organiser added, Walkden North is virgin territory for us, and I'm heartened by the fact that we were well received, and that our message is one that resonates with the residents, especially our anti-war campaign "Bring our Boys Home". Many locals made less than complimentary comments about the war-mongering "old gang" and were keen to encourage us with our campaign.
With every election campaign, there is always a need for extra bodies to help with leafletting etc, so if anyone can spare a few hours, we would be very grateful ,Please contact Gary Tumulty bnpsalford@live.co.uk or call 07909674006. Help us make THE breakthrough in Salford. concluded Mr Fairhurst.
